I tried creating with PPS filament!
Verification of molding with super engineering plastic 'PPS'! Actually tested with FFF method 3D printer! | System Create
Mitarepo is a series based on the concept of "Trying out things like this!" that introduces what can be done using various products. Recently, FFF-type 3D printers have become capable of using "super engineering plastics" that can serve as metal alternatives, attracting significant attention. However, the high-performance materials often come with a "price" that can be a barrier. While representative materials like PEEK offer outstanding performance, their cost makes it difficult to test them casually, and they tend to be reserved for critical applications in the field. In this context, the material we are introducing this time, 'PPS', is currently receiving a lot of attention for being "as tough as PEEK but more cost-effective!" "Can PPS, which is used in those harsh environments, really be 3D printed?" To answer that question, we conducted actual output tests for verification. For the verification, we used the FFF-type 3D printer "CreatBot PEEK-250," which is compatible with super engineering plastics, and thoroughly evaluated the actual output process and the critical dimensional accuracy. *You can download the materials from the button below.
